Page 2 shows us the fun we have at the weekend.

Saturday was about buying a new trailer for our car and visiting the Nottingham Contemporary. They had some of the children's work from Nottingham Schools. They also had some children friendly fun... try drawing a picture without taking your pen off the paper. Tom drew a boat.

Sunday we visited Drayton Manor for the day to celebrate Bradley's Birthday. We had birthday cake and lots of laughter and fun. Tom's favourite ride was G Force, which is one of the parks Thrill Rides, and travels at a speed of 70kmp. The park was open until 6.30pm so we had lots of fun and even the sun came out for a bit. On the way home we stopped at Frankie and Bennys for tea.

My favouriate photos of the week are:
Tom and Phil playing with the micro machines and blowing out birthday candle at teatime.

Page Maps Competition: Top Trumps Game

My sister-in-law sent me a link to a competition on the website Page Maps. I'm always up for a challenge!!!

I love the sketches and ideas in Page Maps and often save them for future inspiration.
Today Liz, Clare and myself met up to scrap our pictures based on the sketch below:

I thought I would scrap something we have done during this year (2013)........

Back in February we spent a day in London at the Natural History Museum with our friend Nigel. After a few hours looking around we left and walked through the Knightsbridge area on our way to a restaurant for tea. The boys spotted some fab super cars on the road. Tom decided we could all play real life Top Trumps. We passed Mercedes, Ferrari's, Aston Martin's to name a few.  When the boys spotted the Yellow Lamborghini, well i'm not sure who was more excited?!? He he - we had a fun day.

This is my take on the design, and I have to admit i'm pleased! I decided to turn the sketch 90 degrees around.

Some of the supplies I have used are:

  • Echo Park Paper - Dots and Stripes
  • Core Color - Stormy Gray
  • Bo Bunny - Back to Basis
  • Top Trumps Card - Cool Cars
  • Tyre Marks - made with black ink and Tom's toy car wheels.
  • Tesco - Craft Foam Stickers
  • Stickers - various own stock
  • Photos - printed at home

I loved this challenge - thanks for the inspiration Page Maps and enjoy your anniversary.

Project Life 2013: Week 17

Phew I'm really pleased that I've completed another week. Just 2 more left to get upto date.

I have to admit It's not been hard to catch up. Stay focused and keep recording your everyday in a book to help jog your memory, and try to keep your pages clean and neat to make it easier and quicker. x

Page 1 gives you the day to day activities. I thought it would also be fun to include some of Tom's favourite words of the month. Where do they get them from??

It's nice to have some colour back into my pages. and I especially love the picture of Phil and myself that Tom took in a nearby pub. We had been out finding some more geocaches and was to tired to cook - what an excuse!!

Project Life 2013: Weeks 14-16 Completed

Well i'm a little behind (6 weeks). Yikes!!!!
I've worked hard over the past week so I'm catching up slowly and now I'm only 3 weeks behind.

Week 14 was the Start of the Easter Holidays 1st-7th April.
We had so many fun days that it was easier to record them in one of the 3x4 pockets. Our favourite days were going on the bike ride in lovely sunshine, and enjoying Grandad's 1000th walk. Nice memories.

Week 15 - was the 2nd week of the Easter Holidays. 7th to 14th April.
Monday was a surprise fun day out to LEGOLAND. We have also found a new hobby Geocaching which is fun. I enjoyed both Thursday and Sunday where I met both my Sister and Sister-in-law. This is what holidays are all about.

Week 16 was back to normality of school and work 15th April to 21st April.
This week we bought and had fitted a new tow-bar. Watch out for the cycle carrier and new trailer in the next couple of weeks. We also had a fun weekend at Donington Park, which included 1 sunny day and 1 cold day and some fab BTCC motorsport action.

Project Life 2013 Update: Weeks 14-19

Ouch does anybody else bury their heads in the sand and hope that things will catch up magically. I think that's what I have been doing knowing I was behind with my project life

By tomorrow I will be 6 weeks behind - that's scary. The same happened last year when I was completing Project 12. I think it's to do with the clocks springing forward and the lighter nights. As a family we tend to do more and relax in the evening garden's sunlight.

I've had a bit of a catch-up over this weekend. I'm going to try and complete the first 3 weeks, and I'm hoping to have organised the layout of the next 3 too.

I've already had some of the 4x6 printed, so I should be able to fill in the gaps. Pictures of incomplete weeks 14 & week 15.

I've found it useful (if nothing else) to record the week we've had on a Sunday/Monday. I know this is going to help loads when catching up on the missed weeks.

Thanks for sticking with me and please come back later in the week, when I hope to post my missed weeks on  The Mom Creative website  on Tuesday 14th May 2013. x
